On December 22nd, the 4th National Congress of Chinese Opera Performance Association and the 1st Chinese Opera Performance Art hosted by the Chinese Opera Performance Society and the People's Government of Yixiu District of Anqing and organized by Digital World (Beijing) Technology & Culture Co., Ltd. The VR Industry Summit Forum was held in Anqing, and VR Network () as a specially invited media participated in the forum.
The forum focused on the topic of contemporary integration of traditional opera performing arts and modern science and technology and interactive interaction with virtual reality VR new industries to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese opera performance arts, broadening the application fields of modern science and technology and the way forward .
Xu Houchao, the founder of Qingtong Vision, delivered a keynote speech titled “Combination of Traditional Chinese Opera and Virtual Reality Technology†during the forum. The content is as follows:
Qing Hitomi Vision was founded in 2015 and focuses on the core technology development and industry applications of motion capture systems. I started from 2015 and focused exclusively on VR. VR began to enter the people's field of vision from the acquisition of Oculus at a high price of Facebook in 2014. During the period 2015-2016, people are very concerned about VR.
When I was doing this report at the time, I thought about it for many days. It was the combination of VR and art, and how to combine it with opera. So far, whether we are doing action capture, or holographic theater, VR \ MR content production, can have a good combination with opera. From 2014 to now, after my observations, VR and AR want to penetrate people's life scenes and may take some time.
Qingyan Vision currently focuses on R&D motion capture technology, and more than 90% of the company's employees are R&D personnel. When everyone's eyes are focused on VR headlines in 2015, we focus on motion capture in this direction. At present, we have self-developed motion capture cameras, which are accumulated by our R&D personnel. No matter whether it is resolution or delay parameters, it can compete with Dachang products. In terms of software, we will also focus on the practices of well-known companies at home and abroad. We will do some optimization on the technical level of position tracking accuracy and angle tracking accuracy. This process takes a long time to accumulate, including the UI interface, the use process, and feedback and modification of some problems encountered. We have integrated the software and hardware into the application area and created our own set of motion capture system.
We can now achieve 4-6 person motion capture within 100 square meters. Drama performances including Beijing opera characters and Huangmei opera characters can be combined with our technology. Dynamic catch can actually play two roles. The first is that real-time data can be output in real time, which can save a lot of past animation production costs and workload. The second is that our delay is within 0-8 milliseconds. With the current VR experience, people with excessive delay will feel dizzy. At present, VR has several different methods in motion capture, such as inertial motion capture, optical motion capture, etc. However, in the field of VR currently, people prefer to use optical motion capture because its performance can better support VR.
VR does not only have higher requirements for delay, but also spends a lot of thought to create immersion. For example, we need to attach a point to the captured object during the capture. For example, if we stick this point on a hammer, if a person watches the drama in VR, he needs to take up a hammer and interact with it. Just pick up the real hammer and you can see a hammer moving synchronously in VR, so you can bring the physical properties of the object into the VR. Similarly, when we attach these markers to the motion platform, it can capture the movements, gravity, and weightlessness of the human joints, and it can be brought into the real scene to realize the interaction between virtual and real scenes.
Motion capture can not only help VR Peking Opera content to be produced better, but also make use of holographic technology to create an unprecedented drama stage effect. In this scene, motion capture can make the performance of the opera more tension and content.
The VR Network learned that this conference included leaders from the Ministry of Culture, Anqing City, Yixiu District, and Tsinghua University, who attended the event. Wang Xuan, President of Digital World, He Yimin, CEO of Digital World, and CEO of VR Virtual Reality Liu Yong, Founder of Qing Hitomi Vision Zuo Houchao, Deputy Director of the New Media Department of China Intercontinental Communication Center Xiang Yi, Li Hongxin, General Manager of Beijing Disheng Digital, Xie Haifeng, CEO of Blockboard Chuangyi Technology, and Zhang Wulong, Director of Beijing Huijing Technology Market, etc. Reality industry big coffee came to the scene. In addition, more than 50 authoritative experts in the theatrical profession participated in the conference and recorded the drama +VR in the future. The 14 opera masters also gathered in Anqing to perform a special performance by Hui Min. They did not forget the beginning of the heart and played in the people.
