Passing Alibaba and Disney to be called to stop Disney’s vision

Today (April 26th) Wall Street Journal Chinese website cited sources as saying that Chinese regulators suspended Alibaba and Disney’s cooperation platform business; according to the requirements of Chinese regulators, the network content service provided by the two parties was suspended. According to a Wall Street Journal report, the suspended business was a digital entertainment set-top box "Disney Vision." At the same time, some users have confirmed that the content of the product is no longer available for viewing. At present, Alibaba has not officially responded to this rumor.



In May 2015, Alibaba announced that it had reached a cooperation with Disney. Ali's Taobao movie and Tmall teamed up with Disney to build a legitimate film derivative platform. Through Taobao’s film lead, Tmall launched more than 40 Disney-licensed brands, including Audi, Lego, Cobos, Hasbro, Li Ning, and Yili, to launch movie derivatives. At present, these brands have all entered the Tmall platform. Products include sweeping robots, mobile film technology products, household life products, clothing shoes and hats, jewelry jewelry, fashion items, cars and so on.

In December 2015, Alibaba’s digital entertainment platform entered into an authorized cooperation agreement with Walt Disney Company and launched the digital entertainment set-top box “Disney Vision”.

In March of this year, the two sides announced that Ali traveled to the opening of the “Shanghai Disney Resort Official Flagship Store” and became one of the official direct channels for Disneyland resorts in Shanghai.

If the cooperation between the two parties is really suspended, it will be a big loss for Alibaba and Disney.
