LG said that the LE8500, a direct-type ultra-thin LED-backlit LCD TV with IOP technology, and the LE5500 series of high-definition LED-backlit LCD TVs equipped with Spot Control (regional dimming control) and Wireless AV Link wireless transmission are more than rivals. Low price listing, expect to seize the market share of LED-backlit LCD TVs. The company estimates that the market for LED LCD TVs in Taiwan will reach 120,000 units in 2010, and will grow to 730,000 units in 2011. It is expected that 65% of LCD TVs will use LED backlights in 2011.
Bai Mingyuan, chairman of LG Electronics of Taiwan, pointed out that LG Electronics is committed to investing a large amount of research and development funds to continuously create products that lead the mainstream market. This time, it launched the world's only ultra-thin direct-lit LED-backlit LCD TV products, which are divided into FULL LED SLIM and LED. LG also revealed that LG's LCD TV shipments in 2010 are expected to reach 25 million units, with an annual growth rate of more than 40%. The target is the second largest in the world, which is mainly due to the TV exchange.
