Uganda’s ambassador to China said that according to the East African 2006 Master Plan study, the construction cost was $900 million. The ambassador said that the cost of the transmission line was partly provided by Uganda, with two lines totaling $98 million and the other $802 million being resolved by power generation. In September this year, a team of Chinese experts will come to conduct a single feasibility study. The Ministry of Energy officials conducted a feasibility study on behalf of the Uganda side and hoped that China would send officials to determine and verify the entire project cost.
