MediaTek signed an agreement with Imagination for multiple graphics kernel licenses

Imagination has signed a further licensing agreement with MediaTek. In this multi-year agreement, MediaTek will acquire multiple Imagination PowerVR Series6 'Rogue' series graphics cores and other product licenses.

Using the PowerVR Series6 graphics GPU core, MediaTek has developed products that support advanced graphics capabilities such as OpenGL ES 3.0, GPGPU, while maintaining the low-power features that are critical to mobile devices. The new agreement will ensure that MediaTek continues to acquire innovative and market-leading graphics technologies in the coming years.
