Making fantastic shape LED lamps with 3D printing technology

Voxel-studio uses advanced 3D printing technology to create unimaginable fantasy shapes, such as this special silkworm cocoon LED fixture. Silkworm cocoons are formed by silkworm larvae, and this 3D printing technology uses a nozzle of a 3D printer to precisely control the liquid photosensitive resin and then rapidly harden it by ultraviolet irradiation.
This LED lamp uses a total of white, gray and black colors. The white photosensitive resin is sturdy, which is used to provide the structure of the lamp and has good light diffuse reflection. It is better as a hollow lampshade. The softness of the gray material is compromised, the black is used to outline the surface and the lines, providing contrasting colors and protecting the surface. The overall LED lamps are designed by computer, all made by 3D printers, which resembles the unique shape of the nest, where the LED bulbs are placed. With its visual effects, this unique lighting project will be held in 2012 in Germany, France and the Netherlands.
