Energy-saving air-conditioning short-listed Comments: In order to sell or to make up for?

(Global Grid Su Liang) On June 4th, the first batch of “Energy Efficient Room Air Conditioners Short-listed Enterprises” catalog was released, exceeding people’s expectations, and the number of companies with the largest number of short-listed companies exceeded 1,000. Overall, fixed-frequency air conditioners The number is far more than inverter air conditioners.

The top ten companies ranked in the top ten were Shigao (1,106), Gree (900), Haier (574), Oaks (365), TCL (442), Midea (393), Hisense Branch. Long * (292), Galanz (261), Changhong (248), Chunlan (198), none of which are foreign brands.

Is the better the number of finalists? The author thinks otherwise.

Finalists: For sale or for compensation?

In terms of market share, Gree and Midea are well-deserved top two. Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric and other Japanese air-conditioning companies are also well-known for their technology, but there are generally fewer foreign-funded companies in the number of short-listed products.

Panasonic (183 units), Shenyang Sanyo (106 units), Daikin (93 units), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (63 units), Shanghai Hitachi (56 units), Mitsubishi Electric (48 units), Electrolux (40 units), Samsung (34), Fujitsu General (26), Whirlpool (23), and York (15). Sharp is ranked second only to all companies with 6 finalists.

This is not to prove that Chinese companies have truly surpassed foreign companies in all respects. On the contrary, the excessive number of successful bidders is likely to become a burden on companies.

The location of each selling location that can be presented to the consumer is limited, and the company has fully differentiated which star models, which are the placeholder models, and which seed products when the product layout is carried out. More than 1,000 kinds of products cannot be presented to consumers at the same time, but since they are nominated, they must be promoted. This will inevitably squeeze the product space of own brands first.

Into the store, it is to pay. This section of the product can be presented to consumers not for free. The more models to be promoted, the higher the hard cost the company will pay. This is not yet counted as a guide to purchase nearly 1,000 models. Training, data, policies, and other soft costs.

In this way, blindly increasing the number of short-listed products is more like a speculative act. Its purpose is not to sell, but to make up for it. The large-scale frauds that occurred during the 2009-2011 energy-saving projects have attracted the attention of relevant departments. Although this time the penalties have not been introduced, it is hoped that this will not be the case for companies.

What is the final sales volume of these air conditioners? How much is zero? It is worth our long-term attention.

In the end is the frequency conversion era or fixed-frequency era?

After several years of popularity, inverter air conditioners have become a trend. In 2010 and 2011, they were defined as "the first year of frequency conversion." However, the number of air conditioners from the finalists does not show that the Chinese air conditioner industry has become the world leader in inverter air conditioners.

Looking at the number of inverter air conditioners alone, Haier (332 units), Gree (290 units), TCL (163 units), Midea (143 units), Yangtze (116 units), Chigo (116 units), Galanz (114 units), Hisense Kelon* (95 units), Daikin (93 units) and Changhong (90 units) have become the top ten companies for inverter air conditioners.

What deserves more attention is that the proportion of fixed-frequency air conditioners in most mainstream companies is far greater than the number of inverter air conditioners. Among domestic enterprises, only Haier and Yangzi have more inverter air conditioners than fixed-frequency air conditioners; among foreign companies, General Daikin and Fujitsu are all qualified inverter air conditioners.

This is enough to prove that in our country, fixed-frequency air-conditioning also has a huge market. Prior to the introduction of the energy-saving and livelihood policy, rumors of “fixed-frequency air-conditioning should not and will not be incorporated into energy-saving subsidies” have been circulating. However, from the company's product layout, we have to admit that China’s inverter air-conditioning era Still on the road.
