The market has reported that Samsung Electronics and Applied Materials Inc. may enter the field of MOCVD equipment used to manufacture LEDs.
According to relevant information, Samsung is currently developing its own MOCVD equipment for use in its own factory and will not sell it.
In terms of applied materials, it is said that the company has obtained funds from the US Department of Energy to develop new equipment. It is expected that MOCVD equipment will be launched by the end of 2011, and the final production stage is likely to be completed in Singapore and Taiwan. The market estimates that the materials may be released in the next two months, a test version of MOCVD equipment.
LEDinside said that there is indeed a new MOCVD machine test in the market, but there is no manufacturer officially announced the progress, or published.
