The National Silicon-based Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Technology Research Center of Nanchang University and the National Red Soil Improvement Engineering Technology Research Center relying on the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences have recently been approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology. It is learned that this is the first annual successful application for the establishment of two national engineering technology research centers in Jiangxi Province. So far, the number of national engineering technology research centers in Jiangxi has increased to five, which fully demonstrates that Jiangxi Province's scientific and technological innovation research and development platform has achieved significant milestones, marking a breakthrough in the “six-one†project for technological innovation.
The National Silicon-based Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Technology Research Center is based on Nanchang University, integrating the Ministry of Education's Luminous Materials and Devices Engineering Technology Research Center, the Provincial Key Laboratory of Luminescent Materials, the Provincial Academy of Sciences and Jingneng Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. . Over the years, Nanchang University has made major breakthroughs in the research and development and industrialization of silicon substrate LEDs, especially the original research results of silicon-based LED material growth and chip manufacturing technology, breaking the current international mainstream sapphire substrate LED and silicon carbide lining. The patent of the bottom LED is out of the third technical route of GaN LED. After the establishment of the National Silicon-based Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Technology Research Center, it will further build a high-level research and development platform integrating scientific research, transformation of results, and personnel training, focusing on solving the urgent technical problems facing the development of China's photovoltaic industry, and promoting semiconductor lighting in Jiangxi Province and even the whole country. It is reported that the National Engineering Technology Research Center will be established for a period of three years and will receive a state grant of 14 million yuan.
