In 2016, the global LED chip market grew by 7.88% year-on-year to 44.8 billion yuan. The High-tech Research Institute LED Research Institute (GGII) estimates that the global LED chip market will reach 51 billion yuan in 2017, up 13.8% year-on-year.

China LED chip industry market analysis

In 2016, China's LED chip market began to pick up, and the market growth rate of chips reached 11.54%. Considering that the price of chips remained basically stable in 2017, the domestic chip manufacturers' sales rate was mostly maintained at 100%, and chip manufacturers were in abundance. Expansion of production, high-yield production and research is expected to increase the output value of China's LED chips in 2017 will reach about 30%.

In 2016, Sanan Optoelectronics accounted for more than 30% of China's chip output value, and the industry's top five market share reached nearly 60%. In the future, with the expansion of large factories, industry concentration will further increase.

China LED chip industry competition analysis

According to the statistics of the High-tech Research Institute LED Research Institute (GGII), the number of bases involved in LED chips in China continued to increase from 1991 to 2011, and the number of enterprises increased from three in 1991 to 95 in 2011. After 2011, the number of LED chip bases in China has decreased year by year, and the industry concentration of LED chips in China has begun to increase.

In 2016, the largest number of LED chip bases in China was in the Yangtze River Delta region, accounting for 44% of the total number of LED chip bases. Followed by the northern region, the number of LED chip bases is 14, accounting for 25% of the total number of LED chip bases.
